Birthday Cakes - May 2011 to July 2012

I have been a little slack updating my blog with cakes we (Duane and I) have made so here is what we have been doing between May 2011 to July 2012:

My hubby and I went to a cupcake decorating course late last year (2011) and this was our cupcake we made:

It was a lot of fun and Duane (my hubby) was one of 2 men in the class!

Nappy Cake - Motorcycle (Boy)

I received an order to make a nappy cake in the shape of a motorbike for a baby shower.

So I researched nappy cakes on the internet and found some ideas. As I had never made one but had heard all about them, I watched a couple of Youtube videos of how to make one. Equipped with the ideas, off to the shops I went and got all the materials and this is the materials I used:

48 nappies (huggies for boys - new baby size)
3 wraps (winter)
1 baby bottle
1 pair of socks
2 bibs
1 teddybear (blue)
ribbon
rubberbands

It took me about 4 hours to assemble and was rather enjoyable.

If you know someone who wants one of these (or a girl one) for a baby shower tell them I am happy to make one for them!

Lost the battle!

Hi all,

I apologise for the delay in updating my blog.

My beloved Mum lost her battle with cancer and passed away on 19 July 2011.

Although we are thankful that she is not suffering anymore we miss her so much and as you can understand it is taking us a while to get back into the swing of things.

Will be back on deck shortly.
